Photos from Greenville!

Here are the pictures, as promised! Enjoy!

What a crazy weekend!

This weekend we went up to camp for what will probably be the last time before Gram puts it on the market. Zach, the twins, Kaiden and myself drove up Thursday afternoon/evening. Thankfully it was an uneventful ride, and we saw 4 deer on the drive up! Friday morning Zach was downstairs with the twins and they saw a doe with her twin fawns in the yard! Too cool!

We spent most of the day at camp, since we were waiting for Nate to arrive, then Mom and Robert to arrive, since nobody else had a key into camp. Though, it also didn't help that we'd managed to completely blow out a tire on the dirt road into camp the night before!

Friday night Zach, Nate and myself went out looking for moose, and saw a bunch, including a cow and calf that were practically strolling down the road next to our car. Unfortunately, it was pretty dark out by this time, so I wasn't able to get a decent picture. Still cool!

Saturday morning we spent in camp, since Mom and Robert had taken our car to Newport (2 hours away!) to get a new tired for the van. After they got back we (Zach, Nate and myself) went in town to get some of the best fudge ever from the corner store, then took a hike up to the crashed B-52 on Elephant Mtn. It was the first time Zach had been to the site, so that was really interesting. While we were out, Robert went fishing with the twins, while Mom watched after Kaiden.

That night we all went out looking for moose and wound up discovering some cool new sites, including a big electric dam! We also saw a bull moose, fox, and a ton of rabbits. While we were doing this, Nate and Zach drove to Spencer Pond to go fishing. On the way back, THEY blew a tire! Thankfully a tire repair kit was available at the trading post, and the tire held up until we hit Newport on the way home. There he stopped and had the tire changed while we went ahead home in the van.

Thankfully the weather was AWESOME all weekend, and despite the two blown tires and related frustration, it was a pretty good weekend! I'm hoping we will be able to go up at least once more before it is sold, it really is my sanctuary up there.

Pictures will be coming soon!

On the Needles - Skirty!

My first girly item! Woo! I dyed some more Patons merino to match my "Sweet Tarts", and decided to make a girly knit with it. It's a surprise for an online friend, and a very fun knit! I don't have a pattern for a skirty, but was able to get some help to figure it out.

Currently I'm ready to bind off the leg cuffs on the under-soaker, then I'll be picking up the stitches on the purl row near the waistband, and starting the skirt portion. I can't wait to see this finished! I tried it on K, so it should fit the recipient well. :)

Happy 10 months!

Kaiden turned 10 months old back on the first. To celebrate, he decided it was time to show off his first tooth!! You can't see it well, especially since he's always sticking his tongue out, but you can CERTAINLY feel it!

He also stood up on his own for the first time the other day! He was standing up next to me, then let go and stood by himself for a few seconds before realizing what he did and grabbing back onto my leg. He hasn't done it again, but at the rate he's been cruising around the furniture, I'm sure it won't be long before he's WALKING!

I've already started trying to plan out some details for his birthday party, I can't believe it's only a month and a half away! He's grown up so fast!

Go Red Sox!

Alright, so this is almost a week late, but better than nothing! ;)

Back in April, I got Nate "the best birthday present, EVER!!" He was shocked to find a pair of tickets to the June 2nd Red Sox vs. Yankees game at Fenway when he finished his scavenger hunt!

Both K and I have been under the weather recently, but thankfully everyone was feeling better on Saturday! We took the bus down, then the T over to Fenway. The game was GREAT! Kaiden was very well behaved, and flirted with everyone... He's too cute for his own good!

There was at least one fight in the stands that we saw, not sure which "side" won before they were escorted out though... On a sweeter note, there was a young man who proposed on the jumbotron during the game. She said yes, very sweet - I didn't get a picture, wish I had!

We had good seats, out by Peskys Pole, and 20 rows up or so. The game went back and forth for a while, but in the end the Sox showed them who was boss! We won, 11-6. Excitement came during the bottom of the 7th, when Doug Mientkiewicz was trampled by Mike Lowell running to 1st. He was driven out, the game continued, and we kept kicking Yankee booty!

Overall, a GREAT day, and despite the heat and sun, I didn't get the tiniest bit of a sunburn! After the game, we got Kaiden his first real baseball cap (which he quickly proceeded to take off), Nate got a new hat and tee, and I got a new Sox tank top.

GO SOX!
