Why are some people so rude?

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't get it... There's this friend, lets call her Jane. There have been a number of incidents in the past between her and others I know. I've tried defending her, and giving her the benefit of the doubt time and again. I've been nothing but nice, honestly.

Recently, she got into an online argument with someone very close, and said some VERY rude things that are directly related to myself and my family. "Jane" is taking issue with a very petty thing, and blowing it way out of proportion, and in the process, was very insulting.

Insulted person believes I shouldn't say anything, and we should just comply with what "Jane" wants... Sorry, but no! I do NOT take kindly to people offending my family, and I will NOT just sit down and let her trample all over said close friends while I stick up for her.

Sorry, but I am DONE! Ugh... I really hate people like that. :(

Pregnant in America

I found this trailer while doing some late-night surfing on the Pin. I can't wait for this documentary to come out, it looks amazing! I think it should be required viewing for all women! It comes at the perfect time too, on a night when I've been sitting up thinking about things I wish had been different with K's birth.

Near the end of my pregnancy, I'd been dealing with a lot of itching. Turns out it was due to Cholestasis, which affects the flow of bile in the gallbladder. Because of this, I was not allowed to go to term. Within a week of receiving the diagnosis, an induction was scheduled, and my hopes of a natural waterbirth had all but vanished.

Thankfully my body did start to progress really well once my water was broken, and I never needed pitocin. My midwife Ellie, from Back Cove Midwives, was wonderful, and she allowed me to have my water birth.

Regardless, I still feel like I was robbed. I want nothing more than to be able to go into labor naturally, and progress at home. If I lived closer to a birth center or hospital, I would love to be able to home birth. But because of a silly liver problem, that only happens during pregnancy, I may never be able to experience that. And depending on which study you look at, the recurrence rate is anywhere from 40 to 80% in subsequent pregnancies.

I shouldn't feel bad, really... I *was* still able to have him somewhat naturally, with no pain medication, and in a tub like I really wanted. I didn't have to have a cesarean, and I am so thankful for that. I just wish that some day, when we have our next child, I can go into labor the way nature intended, not forcefully by medication and a pointed stick.

Twins do tie-dye!

Yesterday afternoon I went over to Mom's, and tie-dyed some prefolds with them. (For those that don't know, prefolds are the "old fashioned" cloth diapers) I bought a bunch in a recent co-op on the Pin from All Together Diaper, and now have all sorts of fun stuff to dye!!

In any case... Tori and James did an awesome job, and had a total blast doing it! They didn't get nearly as messy as I thought they would either. lol Here's the end result...

Tori's is on the left, James' is on the right. Both are bleached premiums.

Here are the other two that got dyed yesterday. Both are unbleached, one is regular, one is preemie.

And here's everything I still have to dye! Add to this about a dozen more OC Dream-Eze that I haven't ordered yet... Wow!

Insert foot in mouth...

Kaiden's newest favorite thing is "eating" his feet! He loves sticking his feet in his mouth, and just yesterday realized he can make funny sounds by moving his foot back and forth quickly... Weird kid! lol
